The Informal to Formal Working Group

The Informal-to-Formal Enterprise Working Group is a coalition of partners operating across sectors to provide oversight for the implementation and execution of the Pathways to  Formalization Program for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Ghana. 

Its Purpose

The Informal to Formal Working Group is dedicated to working with academics and professionals across sectors and disciplines to review, analyze, and revise recommended policies and procedures to ensure conformity with the legal framework and social structures of the business ecosystem in Ghana. The Working Group is dedicated to identifying and evaluating political, budgetary, technological, and other issues and trends that could impact the performance of formal operation within the Ghanaian business ecosystem as well as developing curriculums and syllabus necessary for National deployment of the education and inclusivity of research strategy for greater policy and institutional development. The Informal to Formal Working Group also provides advisory and feasibility strategy on the growth potential and viability of the IT Sector for advancing and achieving educational programming goals and objectives. Last but not least, the Working Group also takes the lead on dialogue, engagement, and the reframing of structural barriers to strengthen and sustain the relationships MSMEs have with the Financial Services Sector, a critical relationship necessary for executing and remaining tax compliant and thereby a formal enterprise in the Ghanaian business ecosystem.
